Greetings! Newbie from Boone County!
Greetings y'all!
I've always been a Star Wars geek, and think it's lots of fun in general. I've been aware of the 501st for a while, and always dreamed of doing a TK Stormtrooper, but never bit the bullet and went for it. Last year my girlfriend decided that we were going to do Gomez and Morticia for Halloween, and I immediately decided that this year we were doing something Star Wars related. While browsing the interwebs, I came across a Director Krennic costume on Amazon and decided that was the route I wanted to go. Purchased it, opened the box, and was immediately disappointed in the quality of the kit. But hey, what did I expect? The one thing that really bothered me was the fact that the rank bar was embroidered, and the white stitching for the velcro backing was going through blue and red rank tabs...completely unacceptable. I started down the rabbit hole of making it look a little more realistic.
Now I've got a rank bar, real dosimeters, the correct hat pin, gloves, and a belt on the way.
I think I've made a glorious, GLORIOUS mistake in starting down this path. I'm going to stick with the costume for Halloween this year (girlfriend is going as Rey, I couldn't convince her to go a Jyn Erso), but I'm also immediately on the search for the correctly made tunic and Jodhpur trousers...with the cape and boots going to come shortly after.

Welcome to the wonderful rabbit hole of Star Wars costuming. I started my journey more than a decade ago and now between myself, my wife and my daughter, we have more than 25 approved costumes.
We have a cadet who has been working on a Krennic for more than a year and getting the cape right seems to be the biggest hurdle. As you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Re: Greetings! Newbie from Boone County!
Thank you so much! I am in contact with a seamstress that has made a approved Director Krennic cape before, and I'm awaiting a quote for it, the tunic, and the trousers. I believe I will be good to go if I go that route, hopefully anyway.
I'm awaiting my shipment of accessories from Philo Props. As soon as they arrive I'll have a picture of them up.

Leather gloves have arrived from the EU!

Almost done with all the small things. Still trying to find a local seamstress, but I think I've got a lead on one.
